Technical lead - Frontend engineering

Yahoo! Platforms team is looking for an energetic and experienced Frontend Engineer who is passionate about delivering the next generation, scalable, reliable and high performance social and open Internet platforms.
Our Social and open platforms are hosted by platforms teams and used by hundreds of millions of users via our web sites. Some examples of these platforms are blog platform, review and commenting platform and polls platform. A Frontend Engineer would participate in design and development of widgets that incorporate and serve these User Generated Content features and tools that enable administration of these features for vertical products.
A successful candidate must be passionate about his area of expertise, excellent communicator, a fast learner, self-starter and a skilled problem solver. Technical people with an interest in working for Internet based products and platforms are invited to apply.
Responsibilities:
Design and development of frontend widgets and tools for UGC platforms
Contribute to interface design and usability aspects
Work with backend team to resolve dependencies and coordinate deliverables
Coordinate with internal customers to integrate the deliverables into the products
Requirements:
6+ years of software experience
Excellent PHP skills. C++/Java skills are a plus
Very good Javascript/Ajax, CSS, HTML skills
Good communication and coordination skills
OO design skills; SOA skills a plus
Data structures and algorithms knowledge
Good academics
Web/Internet experience is a plus
